6 Reasons to Immigrate to Russia

Did you know that Russia is the world's 4th destination for international migrants? About 500,000 immigrants move to Russia every year. People find hundreds of reasons to immigrate to Russia.
Here are just 6 of them.

1. Business opportunities. Russia offers a vast 146-million domestic market and developed logistics for exporting to both Europe and Asia. Low taxes, relatively cheap but highly qualified workforce, cheap natural resources make starting a company in Russia especially attractive. Here you can find a step-by-step instruction on how to register a company in Russia

2. Traditional values. Despite being really tolerant and diverse, Russian society is known for its traditional family values shared by most people. Russia is the place where your children will be happy and secure.

3. Strong country. Russia is among those few states which have the priviledge to pursue fully independent foreign and domestic policies. We may agree or disagree with certain political decisions, but the whole strategy is driven by the national interest.

4. Great culture. Leo Tolstoy's novels, Alexander Pushkin's poems, Kazimir Malevich's paintings and Sergey Rakhmaninov's music are well known around the world. But this is only the tip of the iceberg.

5. Helpful and friendly people. Russian people are always ready to help. Harsh climate and difficult history taught people to always help one another

6. No immigration-related tensions. Despite attracting many immigrants Russia, unlike European states, doesn't face an immigration crisis. Immigration policy is designed in a way that mostly attracts immigrants culturally and linguistically close to Russian people or those ready to share Russian values.

How to Immigrate to Russia

Immigrating to Russia is becoming more popular not only from post-Soviet states, but also from the United States, Canada, Britain, the European Union, Australia and other countries and regions for a number of reasons.

Below we will outline different options of how to get Russian residency (a green card) and Russian citizenship.

Standard procedure

Immigrating to Russia is a three-step process: first an immigrant has to apply for temporary residency; in one year he/she is eligible for permanent residency; in five years an immigrant can apply for Russian citizenship.

Residency allows to live and work in Russia. To get a Russian temporary residence permit (a green card) an applicant needs:

To pass a Russian language test. It is not really difficult, but requires some basic knowledge. Applicants below 18, over 60 (female) / 65 (male) and some other categories are exempt from the test.

To get a residency quota. The number of permits is limited, and the more connections with Russia an applicant has (job, business, property, relatives), the higher chances for the quota he/she has. Some applicants are eligible for applying without getting the quota.

To pass a medical examination and submit an application with the supporting paperwork to the local immigration departmen

Permanent residency and citizenship application procedures are similar, but unlike temporary residency applicants don't have to get the residency quota.

Simplified procedure

Some applicants are eligible for a simplified immigration procedure which allows to get Russian citizenship within 1-3 years (instead of 5-7 years under the standard procedure). Some simplified immigration routes allow to skip a language test, a residency quota and a temporary residency step.

The following applicants can count on the simplified immigration:

- applicants who are married to Russian citizens;
- applicants who were born in Russia or who are native Russian language speakers;
- highly qualified specialists;
- Russian universities graduates;
- refugees.

This list is not complete. Eligibility for simplified immigration should be determined in each particular case. Starting from 2021, simplified residency is going to be granted to investors (the bill is currently under review).

What to start with? Action plan

1. Decide on your immigration strategy. Check if you are eligible for a simplified immigration procedure. Many quailified or well-paid specialists can get Russian citizenship within 1-3 years.

2. Establish a connection with Russia that will help you get the residency quota or prove your right for simplified immigration. Find a job or register a company in Russia, enter a Russian university, purchase a property, marry your Russian boyfriend / girlfriend (of course, if you are in love!).

3. If you are not exempt from a language test, prepare for it. The earlier you start preparations, the better results you will get. Not many people in Russia speak English, and fluent Russian may be required for comfortable living.

4. Prepare the paperwork and complete the immigration steps one-by-one: apply for the residency quota, temporary residency, permanent residency and finally citizenship. If you are eligible for a simplified procedure, you will be lucky to skip some of these steps.
Persistence and a good strategy are key for successful immigration. Feel free to contact us to get a more detailed consultation on what options will work in your particular case. We will be glad to steer you through the immigration procedures and assist you with the transition process.

Georgia Visa From Pakistan

If you’re asking yourself “Do Pakistani citizens need a visa for Georgia?”, then the answer is yes. Visitors from Pakistan need to obtain an embassy visa from a diplomatic government office of Georgia in advance of travel.

Once approved, your pass will be valid for Single-Entry use for up to 30 days. You can also request a Multi-Entry authorisation if you have visited the country at least once during the previous year and if you have grounds to make your request.

The only exceptions to this are Pakistani nationals who hold a valid residence permit from another country. This include permits from the USA, UK, EEA, Canada, New Zealand and the UAE. In this case, you can stay for up to 90 days in a 180-day period visa-free.

How to Get a Georgia Visa from Pakistan

When making your application, you will need to head to the E-Application System.

The system allows you to submit an e-application so you can book a time slot for the submission of your application at the consular office or embassy. You need to deliver your application in person.

After your application is submitted through the system, hard copies of the signed visa application and all other documents necessary need to be submitted to the issuing authority by submitting them directly in person.

To apply for your travel pass from an embassy, you’ll need to provide the following documents:

A fully completed application form.
A travel document such as a passport.
A passport-size photo according to ICAO standards.
A health document.
A vaccination document.
Accommodation bookings while in the country.
Travel bookings including round-trip flight reservations.

Your cover letter, mentioning your travel details and any other members travelling with you.
Proof of travel insurance.

Your invitation letter from a relative, friend or a company requesting you to visit the country.
Can Pakistani Travellers Be Exempt From Needing a Visa?
Certain international travellers may be eligible to travel to the country without a visa if they meet the requirements.

If you’re a Pakistani who holds a residence permit from one of the countries listed below, you may enter without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Meaning, you don’t need to apply via the embassy or fill in any paperwork prior to your visit, so long as you meet the conditions and you’re only visiting for up to 90 days.

You can travel visa-free if you hold a residence permit from the following countries:

EEA Member State
Cayman Island
Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)
South Korea
New Zealand
Saudi Arabia
Turks and Caicos Islands
United Arab Emirates
British Virgin Islands

Georgia Visa Requirements for Pakistani Tourists

To enter the country, you must obtain a travel pass from an embassy or qualify as visa-free and be able to present a valid passport with at least 3 months’ validity remaining.

To enter the country, your passport must meet the following requirements:

It should be valid at least 3 months after the last day of your visa.
It should contain at least 2 empty pages for stamps.
It should have been issued within the last 10 years.
It should not be damaged or contain unauthorised markings.
What Is the Georgia Visa Fee for a Pakistani?

For the embassy visa, you will need to pay consular officials a mandatory embassy fee before your application can be processed and approved. If you’re eligible to visit visa-free, then there will be no cost associated with entering the country.

Travelling to Georgia as a Citizen of Pakistan

The country offers its visitors much to see and do in a land that’s full of contrasts. It contains subtropical beaches, dense forests, arid deserts and some of the highest mountains in Europe. It’s often a country that surprises its visitors with more than enough reasons to be listed as a top tourist destination!

If you’re planning how to get there, the fastest and most cost-effective way to get from Pakistan to Georgia is to fly. Regular flights operated by Qatar, Flydubai and Air Arabia journey between Karachi (KHI) and Tbilisi (TBS), usually with a stop, taking an average of 9 hours.

Pakistan Embassy in Georgia

Unfortunately, there are no representatives of the embassy of Pakistan in Georgia. The nearest office that is an accredited embassy to Georgia is the Embassy of Pakistan in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Embassy’s opening hours are Monday to Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and its full address is: 30 Ataturk Av, Baku, Azerbaijan, 370069.

Georgia Visa for Pakistanis FAQs

To find out more about visiting this exciting Eurasian destination, below you will find answers to some common FAQs.

Can All Pakistani Nationals Travel to Georgia?
Yes. So long as you either arrange your travel pass in advance via an embassy or are eligible to visit the country visa-free, then you will be allowed entry into the country for short stays without a problem.

What Do I Need to Know Before Travelling to Georgia From Pakistan?

The Georgian lari is the currency used here. It is divided into 100 tetri. You can access ATMS in most major towns and use credit or debit cards in Tbilisi. However, if you’re planning on travelling to remote or rural areas, it’s a good idea to make sure you have sufficient cash available, as cards are rarely accepted here.

Study in United Sates of America

The USA has the world’s largest international student population, with more than 1,000,000 students choosing to broaden their education and life experience in the United States. Nearly 5% of all students enrolled in higher-level education in the USA are international students, and the numbers are growing. From the mid-1950’s, when international student enrollment was only just reaching 35,000, international education in the USA has come a long way.

We look forward to helping students like you who are considering continuing education in the United States. You will find all the tools you need to compile your necessary research in deciding if the United States is the best place for you — we have gathered valuable information on educational, social, cultural and economic aspects of studying in the U.S.

Every year, the number of international students in the US rises as more and more students choose the Unites States as the place they wanted to broaden their experience and continue their education. In fact, the US is now the most popular country for international students. Why do so many international students choose U.S. colleges and universities?

Academic Excellence

The United States has one of the world’s finest university systems, with outstanding programs in virtually all fields. At the undergraduate level, excellent programs exist in traditional disciplines, as well as in professional fields. At the graduate level, students have the opportunity to work directly with some of the finest minds in their field of study, with the chance to become involved with exclusive research and educational opportunities. U.S. degrees are recognized throughout the world for their excellence.

Variety of Educational Opportunities

The United States is home to several thousand colleges and universities, boasting at least ten times as many campuses as in any other country. As a result, the higher education system in the U.S. has something for everyone. Some U.S. colleges and universities stress broad educational principles; others emphasize practical, employment-related skills; and still others specialize in the arts, social sciences or technical fields. This means that no matter what you plan on studying, you will have a wide variety of programs in your particular field from which to choose.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Universities in the U.S. pride themselves on being at the forefront of technology, research and techniques, and in making the best possible equipment and resources available to their students. Even if your field does not directly involve science or engineering, you will have opportunities to become skilled in using the latest technology to conduct research, as well as obtain and process information. You will find ways to stay connected with researchers, teachers and experts in your field all over the world.

Opportunity for Research, Teaching and Training

You may be able to gain valuable experience through teaching and/or research while you help to finance your education in the U.S., particularly if you are a graduate student. Many graduate programs offer training and teaching opportunities that enable students to become teaching assistants to undergraduates and/or research assistants on special projects exploring different aspects of your field of study.

International students are some of the most valued teachers and researchers in U.S. universities because they bring new skills and ideas to the classroom and library or laboratory. This practical component of your education will prove useful in your future career, and may give you insights into your field that would not be possible through course study alone.

Although many programs are highly structured in that specific coursework requirements must be met, you will generally be able to find a wide variety of course choices to meet those requirements. For example, liberal arts coursework for an undergraduate program will include classes in languages and mathematics, but you will be given a wide variety of classes which fit those requirements, and the freedom to decide which classes best match your interests.

At the advanced stages of a degree, or if you are pursuing a graduate degree, you will be able to tailor your coursework to fit your specific academic goals, needs and interests. When you choose topics for independent study for a graduate thesis or dissertation, you can emphasize ideas that are important to you, your field and your country.

Support Services for International Students

Studying in the United States is a rewarding experience, but navigating your way through day-to-day issues can be a challenge. Many international students find that the college and university international student office is a great resource when it comes to adapting to a culturally and academically different environment. The mission of the international student office is to assist students like you, and there is often a wide range of student services that they provide

An orientation program upon your arrival is just the start of the many programs and benefits of the university international student office - throughout your time in the U.S., they can help answer questions you may have regarding your visa status, financial situation, housing, employment possibilities, health concerns and more. If you choose to complete your degree in the United States, this office often provides resume and employment assistance as graduation nears. The international student office will be an invaluable source of information and help as you make the transition into academic and cultural life in the United States.

Global Education and Long-Term Career Prospects

Experience in an international setting is a marketable commodity. Many employers seek the wide range of knowledge, adaptability and experience that international students acquire by studying in the United States. Companies in the U.S. are increasingly seeking to become a strong presence in the global marketplace. They often look to hire employees who not only have multi-cultural language skills, but those who can also help communicate, negotiate and conduct business across different cultures.

The United States is not the only country seeking strong candidates when hiring; international students are in high demand elsewhere, as well. In recent years, international companies have become much more proactive in recruiting from the pool of strong international student graduates. Your long-term career prospects can be enhanced by your experiences through the development of self-confidence, independence and cross-cultural skills - attributes which are in high demand with employers worldwide.

Campus Life Experience

When you continue your studies in the U.S., you are making a choice to broaden not only your educational opportunities, but your cultural experience, as well. Whether you attend a small, private college in a small town or a university situated in the middle of a large urban area, most universities offer a variety of student clubs and organizations to match the wide array of student interests. You can have the opportunity to immerse yourself in American culture, meeting new people and making new friends, through different organizations and associations.

International students often find that the international student office is a good starting point for campus offerings, as well as the campus student center. Your time studying abroad can be enriched by taking part in the social and cultural scene surrounding you, and you will likely find that U.S. campuses provide a rich variety academic, cultural and athletic activities that add new dimensions to your life.
